German automotive giant Volkswagen AG will use the upcoming motor show in Geneva reveal the Variant R-Line version of its Passat estate/wagon. The sporty trim will emerge in a limited series of just 2,000 cars.
Customers will be able to choose between a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 272 hp (203 kW) and its diesel equivalent producing 240 hp (179 kW). The car comes with adaptive shock absorbers and the VW 4Motion system (4WD).
In terms of body kit, the R-Line trim sports a roof spoiler, black side mirror caps, darkened LED lights, and a diffusor in the rear.
The Volkswagen Passat Variant R-Line features adaptive cruise control, all-around view cameras, a multimedia system with a screen measuring slightly more than nine inches across, and a digital dashboard.
The German manufacturer will introduce two other cars at the show in Switzerland as well. One of these is a pre-production copy of the Volkswagen T-Roc R, while the other one is a VW Touareg variant packing a potent 420-hp (313-kW) engine.
