The next generation of the wagon-shaped VW Passat has been spotted running around in disguise in a snowy area. The car should debut in late 2023, so let us have a look at it.
The new Passat looks especially long and low-sat against the white background, making it a bit hard to discern proportions. Still, it looks larger than the current generation and with a longer wheelbase, too (watch the video below if you want to compare).
Smart decals at the front end conceal the changes to the headlights and the radiator grille. It looks like the headlights forming a union of sorts with the radiator grille is a false impression, and that they will be kept separate on the production car.
Powertrain-wise, it would be natural to expect Volkswagen to add a plug-in hybrid version to the lineup with up to 100 km (62 miles) of electric range.
