The ninth generation of the Volkswagen Passat is premiering this fall in a trimmed-down form: only the estate/wagon version will remain on the market. To keep us interested, the company has published some images of it along with engine specifications.
The new Passat utilizes the MQB Evo platform and measures 4,917 mm (192 inches) head-to-tail. It is thus 144 mm (5.6 inches) longer than its predecessor, largely thanks to a bigger wheelbase and added cabin room. The trunk also goes up in size to 690 liters (24.3 cubic feet).
The digital dashboard inside is 10.25 inches large, while the multimedia display has a 12.9-inch diagonal. Paying extra nets you a 15-inch option.
The engine palette consists of both traditional and hybridized engines rated from 204 to 272 PS (201–268 hp; 150–200 kW, respectively). The all-electric driving range reaches 120 km (74.5 miles) under optimal conditions.
