Tuning luxury cars is a responsible and difficult task that is easy to fail. Furthermore, even if you succeed, purists will still tell you that OEM was better. So, what do you think about this VW Phaeton recently discovered by tuningblog.eu?
The stretched luxury saloon comes trimmed to the Exclusive Edition spec and sits on RH WM102 neutral grey alloys measuring 20 inches across. Flow-formed wheels with numerous thin spokes come across as elegant and understated – something that should fit the executive car image very well. There are VW logos on the hubcaps and blue brake calipers behind the spokes.
The body stays mostly stock except for a Seker Tuning EZ spoiler lip at the front, two more such lips on the side sills, and a trunk lid spoiler. All details are painted black to stand out against a white body, but the styling is subtle enough to be barely noticeable.
Technical upgrades are limited to a lowering kit and a chip tune for the 3.0-liter diesel six-pot that takes it from 240 PS (237 hp / 176 kW) to 309 PS (305 hp / 227 kW). Acceleration times remain undisclosed.
