On the Internet there was information that Volkswagen company has started running tests of a new generation of the hatchback version of the Polo R. The car, first of all, differs from its predecessors in the presence of a 300-horsepower power unit.
Volkswagen Polo GTI new generation lost a 1.6-liter engine. Instead, it installs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine from the Golf GTI, whose unit is also installed in the Golf R. Other Volkswagen Group brands also plan to use this unit for the "charged" versions of the Seat and Skoda models.
In addition, the company officially confirmed the information on the expansion of the sub-brand "R". The release of the compact crossover T-Roc R in 2018 has already been announced.
