German tuner BR-Performance essentially turns the compact-sized Volkswagen Polo GTI into an affordable muscle car with its latest power kit. Let’s have a closer look at the changes.
The model year 2018 hatchback gets a blow-off valve, a Wagner intercooler, a sports exhaust system, and a more efficient turbocharger. When everything is installed and the ECU is tuned for maximum output, the power skyrockets from the usual 200 to 324 horsepower (from 149 to 242 kilowatts, respectively).
At the same time, the torque gets pushed from 320 to 504 Nm (from 236 to 372 pound-feet). To put things into perspective, the entry-level Ford Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost lags considerably behind with its 290 hp (216 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque.
Those willing to save a few thousand euros can opt for a Stage 2 (246 hp / 183 kW) or Stage 1 (238 hp / 177 kW) kit instead.
