The original Volkswagen T-Roc R only debuted in Geneva around two years ago, but the carmaker believes it is now old enough to warrant an update. The launch is expected in early 2022, but in the meantime, here are some spy photos.
Based on the images, most of the change happens at the front end. The radiator grille no longer consists of several bars, instead sporting a honeycomb design with a single bar in the middle. The headlights appear slimmer than usual, and the taillights have new patterns.
Side view reveals no changes, although the wheels now have Y-spokes instead of V-spokes like before.
It is highly unlikely that the manufacturer will modify the stock 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder in any way. As such, it will probably continue to churn out 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.
