Volkswagen AG has big plans for the future, intending to have at least 10 different SUV models on the lineup. Today, the company successfully applied for three new car name trademarks: T-Sport, T-Coupe, and T-Go.
The T-Sport was the name VW had originally intended to use for its Nivus SUV in Brazil (see the gallery for that one). Reviving the name might mean that the carmaker wants to bring the Nivus to Europe. In this case, the T-Coupe could be referring to its coupe-shaped version.
As for the T-Go, we think it sounds like the German marque’s smallest crossover vehicle, possibly based on the T-Track concept. The company’s current midget also has a ‘motivational’ moniker: Up!
Which of this – if anything – is true, remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the VW T lineup is going to expand dramatically soon, perhaps even to a point where it starts confusing consumers.
