Volkswagen Teramont X gets updated in China

Volkswagen has submitted some images of the facelifted 2023 Teramont X model for China, which is known in other countries as the Atlas Cross Sport.

The coupe-like crossover is shown with a new front bumper not unlike that of the European R-Line spec. It also sports different headlights and a redesigned radiator grille (fewer horizontal bars, a new pattern). The tailgate now has a gloss panel between the taillights, and the light signatures are also different.

For now, the company has only revealed one powertrain option for the 2023 Teramont X. It is a 2.0-liter turbo version rated at 220 PS (217 hp / 162 kW). Chances are good that the rest of the options will stay the same as before, too, meaning another 2.0L turbo spec capable of 186 PS (183 hp / 137 kW) and a 2.5-liter VR6 rated at 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW).

Sales will start later in the year. The original coupe-SUV model debuted in China in late 2018 (see video).
