It is official: Volkswagen Group will be unveiling the Tiguan X coupe-SUV at the Auto China expo in Beijing starting on September 26, 2020.
The X version of the Tiguan utilizes the elongated wheelbase of the Tiguan Allspace. As its name suggests, it sports a slanted roof and a sloped rear end, but is otherwise identical to its non-coupe counterpart.
All Tiguan X vehicles will ship with the R Line package already pre-installed, as well as new brake lights, a light reflecting strip at the rear end, and fake exhaust tips.
The X Coupe comes powered by the usual 2.0-liter TFSI engine available in 186 hp (139 kW) and 220 hp (164 kW) variants. Both support the same 7-G DCT box and front-wheel drive, and AWD is available as a paid option.
