The Volkswagen Tiguan went through a facelift in July, receiving a performance-packed R version. It is now official that the hot SUV needs 4.9 seconds to launch to 100 km/h (62 mph).
The car comes powered by a two-liter turbocharged engine rated at 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW) that hooks up to a seven-speed DSG transmission, AWD and the R-Performance Torque Vectoring system that distributes the torque between the rear wheels.
It also benefits from an improved suspension with adaptive shocks and a 10 mm (0.4”) reduction in ground clearance. An Akrapovič titanium exhaust system and 21-inch Estoril wheels instead of the stock 20-inch ones are paid options.
The Volkswagen Tiguan R is already available domestically in Germany, where it starts from €56,703.
