The standard Volkswagen Tiguan went through a facelift last year, and the stretched Allspace version will be catching up soon.
The Allspace, which adds 22 cm (8.6 inches) to the length of the standard version, will first debut in Europe on May 12 and later in the USA and China. There is only one teaser pic of it right now, but the production car will most likely get the same basic improvements as the standard Tiguan did.
This includes minor design revisions, modern electronic aids, and an MIB3 infotainment system with access to a wide variety of functions. The optional third seat row and the voluminous trunk (up to 1,920 liters / 67.8 cubic feet) will probably remain available.
It is probably worth pointing out that the long-wheelbase Tiguan Allspace is more popular among customers worldwide than its regular cousin. It is accountable for 55% of total units sold, with around 1,500,000 units sold in the past four years alone.
The same situation is observed in China, where the stretched spec is called Tiguan L, and in the United States, where the shorter variant is not even available. Production takes place in China for that country’s market and in Mexico for all other global markets.
