By 2023, stick shift will become very rare in VW cars. The next-gen Tiguan and Passat coming up that year will not be available with it, and by the early next decade, all ICE cars remaining on the lineup will be limited to automatic and DSG.
As of right now, around 1/3 of all vehicles on sale in Germany can be obtained with manual transmission. Volkswagen is even more stick-friendly in this regard with around 40% cars available with manual (not considering the commercial transports here).
One of the automaker’s newest releases, the 2022 Jetta sedan featured in the video here, can be had with manual in Germany and the USA.
