Next-gen Volkswagen Tiguan reveals an all-new passenger space

Shortly after posting some photos of a disguised VW Tiguan, the manufacturer apparently decided to dispense with the mystery and reveal its interior as well. It is apparently completely different from the previous generation and dominated by a large infotainment display.

The SUV, which is expected to debut this fall and go on sale next year, features a new dashboard and transmission tunnel. Its multimedia screen is no longer integrated into the center console and stands alone. The diagonal size is expected to vary from 12.9 to 15 inches depending on your chosen trim level. A 10.25-inch digital dash is included in all trim levels.

The steering wheel once more offers mechanical buttons instead of capacitive ones. A round adjustment knob seen on the tunnel can be used to adjust audio volume or backlight intensity, as well as to switch between drive modes. The tunnel itself sports a more compact and laconic design made possible by moving the transmission selector onto the right-hand side of the steering column, much like in VW ID electric cars.
