Volkswagen teases an ‘experience switch’ for the new Tiguan

The third generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan will ship with a feature called Driving Experience Switch. Styled as a small rotary knob, it will be located on the transmission tunnel and fulfill multiple functions thanks to a built-in display.

Drivers will be able to switch between transmission modes, adjust music volume and fine-tune ambient lighting using the same dial. The images make it look like some of the LEDs are built into the front panel next to the passenger seat on the right.

The setting currently being changed is displayed on the head unit. Switching to a different setting is likely done by pressing the mini-screen on the dial itself, which will then change its pictogram accordingly.

On the whole, the new Tiguan is no longer a secret. Based on earlier photos, the SUV is coming to us with a large (up to 15 inches diagonal size) touchscreen in the middle, a thoroughly redesigned interior and a drive mode selector at the steering column.
