Volkswagen will not be developing a long-wheelbase version for the next Tiguan generation in the USA and Europe, Carscoops reports. The car previously known as the Tiguan Allspace (seen in the gallery below) will allegedly be replaced by the China-made Volkswagen Tayron.
Carscoops is reporting that Volkswagen Group of America representatives contacted them with a confirmation that the old seven-seater formerly known as the Tiguan Allspace would not be available in the USA in 2024. Instead, the Allspace nameplate would be put on the second-gen, China-spec Volkswagen Tayron for the U.S. market.
You can have a closer look at the first-gen Tayron in the video here. It is a smaller car than the Allspace, but the new generation is being developed based on the MQB Evo platform and is shaping up to be bigger than the first one. The automaker promises an extended range of hybrid powertrains to choose from, too.
