VW Group has officially declared the forthcoming premiere of its latest-generation flagship Volkswagen Touareg crossover next spring. It could be assumed that the presentation would take place at the International Automotive Exhibition in Beijing, China, but no specifics were provided on that matter.
According to an official source, the car has undergone a complete overhaul. The photos recently made available on the Internet actually tend to support this claim. The car, which is depicted as is without the customary pre-premiere camouflage, looks like it takes after the T-Prime GTE concept demonstrated at the Beijing Expo earlier this year.
It has been confirmed that the new Volkswagen Touareg uses the same modular platform MLB Evo the new Bentley Bentayga and Audi Q7 are built upon. It is likely to be shipped with two- and three-liter diesel and gasoline engines to choose from. A hybrid version of the car will also hit the showrooms at a later date.
