Around three weeks ago, ABT Sportsline announced a power upgrade and new wheels for the Volkswagen Transporter (T6.1) range. Now, it shows us what the styling kit for the new T6.1 will look like.
The Aero Package, as the manufacturer proudly calls it, is made of reaction-injection-molded polyurethane, or PU-Rim. We admit to having reservations as to its actual aerodynamic properties, but hey – it’s a full-blown van and not a sports car! That, and it actually looks good with the kit on, especially the decorative front bumper and grille inserts. Both come pained to match the body and lend the cargo hauler a certain measure of sportiness.
The rear also gains style points thanks to the slightly reshaped tailgate, quad exhaust tips in a glossy black finish, and a sleek rear wing up top.
The ABT Sportsline-tuned Transporter rides on new 20-inch ABT GR wheels and benefits from Bilstein height-adjustable suspension kit that brings it between 40 and 70 millimeters (1.6 – 2.7 inches) lower to the asphalt.
