An attentive spy photographer has managed to track down what may look like a regular VW T6 at the first glance, but is most likely the upcoming Volkswagen I.D. Buzz van squeezed inside a test mule body.
Note especially the ‘Elektrofahrzeug’ (German for ‘electric vehicle’) at the rear end, as well as the body proportions (noticeably wider and shorter than the real T6).
It is official that the Buzz will ship with traction batteries rated from 48 to 111 kilowatt-hours, depending on the version. The longest-range version will be able to make 550 kilometers (342 miles) on a charge. Top speed will be capped at 160 km/h (99 mph) in all specs. Solar panels on the roof will add another 15 km (9 miles) to the range on sunny days, the manufacturer claims.
