People mostly come watch carwow for drag strip runs these days, but in his latest video, Matt Watson treats us to something new. Watch a Ford Transit try to win a tug-of-war competition against a Mercedes Vito and a Volkswagen Transporter.
All three are FWD, diesel-powered vans, but there are significant differences between them. The Ford Transit seen here is a sported-up MS-RT version packing a 2.0L engine with 186 PS (183 hp / 137 kW) and a six-speed automatic transmission. The Mercedes Vito makes do with a 1.8L engine, 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and six-speed manual.
Finally, the VW transporter gets 209 PS (206 hp / 154 kW) out of its 2.0L diesel, which a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission carries to the front wheels.
The video documents multiple attempts and determines a clear winner. Before you watch it, try guessing which one wins and let us know in the comments!
