Few of us would remember the Volkswagen T2 when talking about Moab-capable off-roaders, which is probably why these two videos leave few people indifferent. Peter Vollers largely left his 1966 VW bus stock and proved that it still made a highly efficient overlanding RV like that.
The bus comes finished in its original Velvet Green tint that has grown a bit darker with age and rocks a portal axle at the rear end. It rides on a set of 27-inch all-terrain tires and draws its power from a 44-PS (43-hp / 32-kW) engine mated to a manual transmission.
Even the interior manages to stay stock for the most part. Vollers unfolds the bench seat in the back to form a bed and uses it to sleep. The only modification of note here is a wood-burning oven that keeps the interior warm during cold nights. Nonetheless, the vehicle traverses Moab with ease, as you can see for yourself by watching the videos attached.
