Volkswagen partially reveals the Viloran MPV

VW has come to the ongoing 2019 Auto Guangzhou with a pre-production sample of its new business-class MPV Viloran. The main specs are here, but questions still remain.

Just as expected, the minivan sources its power from a two-liter turbo-four engine rated at 220 hp (164 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. A seven-speed DSG transmission sends the momentum to the front axle, and no other options exist. At 5,300 millimeters (17.4 feet) long with 3,180 mm (10.43 ft.) between the axles, the Viloran is the largest vehicle ever built with the MQB platform as a starting point.

Interestingly, while the Viloran is closer to the Atlas/Teramont SUV in terms of tech and features, it takes exterior styling cues from the Touareg series. The cabin remains a mystery, with VW only showing us the sliding doors, the panoramic roof, and the split seats in the second row (but you will be able to order the classical three-seater sofa instead if you want to).

Sales will launch in June next year. VW promises to reveal the cabin and the remaining specs before the launch.
