The Swedish brand continues to disclose details about
the new compact crossover. Last month, the automaker shared information on the
design of the exterior of the Volvo XC40, which will be made in the style of
Volvo Concept 40.1, and now told about its interior decoration.
Louise Atcheba, brand manager for the 40 series in
Volvo Cars, said in her interview: "In the process of communicating with
people, we were interested in how and where they store things that they take
with them to the car salon every day. As a result, we realized that almost all
modern cars often do not meet the expectations of drivers. Phones slide on the
console and are scratched in niches on the dashboard, packages with food from
the restaurant take out constantly turn over, and drivers are regularly
distracted from the road, trying to get fuel and parking cards from their
wallets. We set ourselves the goal to solve these and many other problems once
and for all. "
It is already known that by moving the speakers of the
audio system in the passenger compartment, capacious pockets will appear in the
door panels, into which water bottles, as well as a laptop or a tablet, will
easily fit. In the glovebox Volvo XC40 will place a special hook with a hinged
lid for small bags and bags. In addition, the car will provide special slots
for bank cards, business cards and coins, as well as a removable garbage
compartment. Plus, there will be a special zone for phones with the possibility
of wireless charging and USB-ports.
"In the trunk of the Volvo XC40 car, the space
management system is integrated: the luggage compartment floor panels can be
folded up, serving as dividers between your bags and suitcases and allowing you
to use the entire available space without removing the floor. At the push of a
button, the electronic mechanism will fold the rear seats to form a flat
surface, "added the design manager for Volvo Cars, Connie Eve Blomme.
The debut of the new compact crossover Volvo XC40 is
expected this year.
