Volvo teams up with Starbucks to equip coffee shops with EV chargers

Volvo EV drivers will soon be able to top up their batteries at ChargePoint terminals placed near Starbucks coffee houses. For the time being, only the Denver-Seattle route spanning over 1,200 miles, or 2,000 kilometers, long will be covered.

The two companies hope that the charging network will be in high demand. It can be very convenient to stop at a coffee house, rest up a bit and have a snack, all the while letting your electric car refill with energy as well. The charging terminals will be evenly spaced every 100 miles (160 kilometers) from each other.

Volvo drivers will be able to use their infotainment system to locate their nearest charging station, and will be granted a major discount for using it. Pricing specifics aren’t there yet.
