Swedish carmaker promised to present the compact Volvo XC40 crossover in autumn of this year. The management of the company is convinced that the new model will become nearly one of the most successful cars in a modern model range of Volvo. Concern's plans are to expand all the fortieth series in the next 3-4 years, and also to issue the first electrocar by 2019.
It is noted that the car is based on the CMA platform. Specialists from Geely took part in development. BMWS X1 and Audi Q3 will become the closest competitors of the model.
There is a probability, that updated Volvo XC60 crossover in its second generation will be shown to public during debut of XC40. Volvo does this focus on off-road vehicles against the backdrop of the growing popularity of this type of body in the world.
