Women's Worldwide Car of the Year composes a short list, names frontrunners

The jury of the WWCOTY (Women's Worldwide Car of the Year) award will be announcing the overall winner of the 14th annual competition on March 8, 2024. In the meantime, contenders have been established in five nominations, three of them EVs.

The Family Car of the Year nomination category is currently headed by the China-made Volvo EX30. The reviewers praised its overall build quality, comfort and safety features.

The BMW 5-Series, including the all-electric i5, was recognized as the Best Large Car of the Year thanks to its technological advancements and a vegan leather trim option.

The all-electric Kia EV9 won SUV of the Year thanks to its sleek modern style and adequate pricing. The new Volkswagen Amarok (heavilby based on the Ford Ranger) was recognized as the last year’s best pickup truck thanks to a wide variety of standard equipment and features, as well as quality trim materials all around.

The Aston Martin DB12 was crowned the Exclusive Vehicle of 2023, with the jury praising its elegant styling and impressive tech.

The WWCOTY jury board comprises 75 female reporters employed in automotive news media in 52 countries spanning 5 continents around the world. The short list includes 62 candidate cars made in 2023.
