Volvo will unveil the all-electric EX90 SUV on November 9, 2022, but in the meantime, the company has released a video previewing some of its exterior and explaining some of the thought that went into its design.
Per Volvo, efficiency was the main consideration when the body shape was conceptualized. As a result, the seven-seater ended up with an enviable drag ratio of 0.29. This should enable it to cover great distances on a single charge, but we have yet to hear the details.
Volvo says it slashes the air resistance with a rounded front end and flush door handles – you can see both on the teaser images revealed so far.
Another interesting feature comes in the form of a LiDAR unit mounted slightly above the windshield. According to the company, the engineers wanted to put the self-driving equipment as high up as possible to maximize its visibility and range.
