The Swedish automaker has published a sales report for January 2023, according to which it sold 48,520 electric cars last month – 2% more year-on-year compared to 2022.
The company also pointed out that plug-in hybrids were becoming more popular among buyers. Last month alone, Volvo was able to move 19,742 hybrids, 31% more than last year. In the marque’s total sales, electrified vehicles amounted to 40.7% (including 16.2% all-electric ones).
One would expect the sales to soar even higher when the long-anticipated Volvo EX90 (shown below) hits production with a large 111-kWh battery on board.
