Volvo vows to stop making diesels in 2024

Volvo has officially announced the intention to discontinue all diesel-powered cars at the beginning of the next year.

The company, which is attending the Climate Week NYC, sold its share in ICE manufacturing company Aurobay last autumn as part of its zero-emission strategy. Discontinuing cars running on heavy petroleum engines was the next logical step to make.

Volvo expects to go all-electric by 2030 and achieve full climate neutrality ten years after that.
