Cyan-tuned, $0.5M Volvo P1800 gets reviewed once again

Cyan Racing, which is a motorsports subdivision of Geely Group now, keeps telling us that half a million bucks is a pittance to pay for its sublime Volvo P1800 restomod.

In the latest video review, the car is being tested by Netherlands-based team AutoTopNL. From the very first moments behind the steering wheel and through the entire test drive, the painstakingly built ride never fails to amaze with its sheer power and handling ease.

For those who missed it, Cyan takes a 1964 model year Volvo P1800 and retrofits it with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine rated at 420 PS (413 hp / 310 kW) and 455 Nm (336 lb-ft) of torque. The powertrain stems from the Volvo S60 TC1, which is a racecar, and can actually output up to 537 PS (530 hp / 395 kW), according to dyno measurements.

A five-speed manual transmission feeds the momentum to the wheels. Carbon-fiber body and 990 kg (2,182 lbs) curb weight enable it to zap from 100 to 200 km/h (62-124 mph) in 8.32 seconds, the video says.
