Video: P1800 Cyan drifts the Scandinavian way

Cyan Racing has sent its P1800 Cyan restomod to the Far North. A series of drift tests on icy and snowed-under roads at -20 °C (-4 °F) has proven the adequacy of all chassis settings made in the garage.

According to Matthias Evensson, the leading developer of the project, ensuring perfect drivetrain and suspension performance was crucial for a vehicle lacking modern anti-skid and anti-block systems.

The Cyan P1800 is a rear-wheel-drive coupe restomod based on the 1964 Volvo P1800. It debuted last September featuring numerous stainless-steel reinforcements to the original chassis and an all-carbon body that let it weigh in under one metric ton (2,200 lbs).

Powering the ride is a 2017 Volvo S60 TC1 turbo four-pot rated at 420 PS (414 hp / 309 kW) and 455 Nm (336 lb-ft) of torque. A five-speed Holinger M/T sends the power to the rear axle, and not a single modern safety aid or driving assist gets in the way of the driving experience.

Orders are processed starting from U.S. $500,000. Cyan does not reveal how many units will be made.
