Another Volvo P1800 becomes a gorgeous restomod

Braun Sports Cars and Zachau Design have joined efforts to produce a restomod called The Saint based on a Volvo P1800 dating back to the ‘60s. The designer of the original car, Pelle Petterson, was part of the team.

In every project like this, the donor car is taken completely apart and restored to what basically amounts to factory condition. This particular build comes with a standard active aero wing and brake winglets, but customers can specify anything up to an all-carbon body. The wheels are 17-inch Lucky 7 rollers.

The suspension is of a double-wishbone design with Öhlins coilovers, electronic ABS at the front axle and push rods. For the steering, you can order a manually adjustable setup or make the response speed-dependent.

Inside, the main highlights are bucket seats, a two-spoke carbon steering wheel, leather fit and finish, HVAC and a head unit with Bluetooth support. Those in need of more creature comforts may opt for power windows, a wireless charging pad and an audio system, among other things.

There are three engines to choose from: a classic Volvo four-pot with minimal upgrades, a 2.4-liter non-turbo five-cylinder and its turbo counterpart. The transmission can be manual or DCT, and the output varies from 250 to 750 PS (247–740 hp; 184–552 kW) depending on your chosen configuration. Since the restomod doesn’t exceed 1.1 metric tons (2,425 pounds) in its heaviest configuration, it can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in three seconds flat.
