Volvo introduces the S60 premium sedan/saloon in South Korea

Volvo Cars Korea has announced the forthcoming premiere of the S60 luxury sports sedan/saloon. The exact reveal date will remain unknown until the company wraps up the road tests.

It is official that the newcomer will mainly compete against the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 3 Series, both of which are highly popular on the national market. It will go on sale equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 254 hp (189 kW). No other drivetrain options will be available.

Market observers say the Volvo S60 will most likely be priced within the U.S. $40,000 - $44,000 range depending on the trim version.

In an earlier statement, Volvo confirmed its intention to intensify sales in South Korea. Obviously, bringing the premium sedan to the region should help achieve that goal while also boosting brand awareness.
