The Volvo S60 sedan won’t be celebrating its U.S. public debut until June 20, but it has recently been announced that it gets a hi-end version named Polestar Engineered. The vehicle will be marketed above the R Design car series.
Each Volvo S60 Polestar Engineered will take advantage of a hi-end hybrid engine with 421 hp / 314 kW at its disposal. The drivetrain will include a 2.0-liter turbo V4, an electric motor contributing its own 87 hp / 65 kW, and a 9 kWh battery set.
You may note that the drivetrain has been slightly boosted from its stock performance of 407 hp / 303 kW. Reportedly, this resulted in better fuel economy and smoother transitions between gears.
Aside from the above, each Volvo S60 Polestar Engineered gets adjustable shock absorbers, front strut tower braces from the Polestar 1 sport car, and Brembo brakes with gold-tinted supports.
The company has promised to release a similar option package for its XC60 SUV and V60 estate next year.
