The entire limited batch of 20 Volvo S60 T8 Polestar Engineered cars has been sold out in the USA in less than forty minutes from the sales announcement.
And it is not like buying the exclusive sedan was easy, either. The offer only applied to the subscribers of Care by Volvo, company’s own car rental service. The rules of the deal stated that the buyer first had to rent a Volvo S60 T8 Polestar Engineered vehicle for two whole years at 1,100 USD/month, with the opportunity to hand in his/her rented car for a new one after the first year. Only those who fulfilled this condition were allowed to purchase the ultra-rare vehicle.
The latest generation of Volvo S60 debuted in June with improved braking and suspension, as well as reworked transmission. In the top-spec variant named T8, it features a hybrid drivetrain with 415 hp / 310 kW, dominated by a 2.0L V4 turbo engine.
Lower trim levels can be obtained with an inferior 340hp / 254 kW hybrid drivetrain or a regular gasoline engine rated between 250 and 310 hp (185 – 230 kW).
