Swedish car manufacturer Volvo has unveiled a lavish prototype vehicle it called the Volvo S90 Ambience Concept. The car may not look much different from the series-produced Volvo S90 on the outside, but that’s because most of the innovation has found its way into the interior.
The passenger compartment of the luxury-laden Volvo S90 Ambience Concept sedan features an air freshener, a mini bar, a hinged display, folding tables and an image projector pointing at the ceiling. It also comes equipped with a hi-end Bowers & Wilkins sound system partially hidden inside door panels and rear seat row headrests.
The projector has the following presets: Rain, Archipelago, Northern Lights, Swan Lake, and Scandinavian Forest. Switching to a preset launches the associated image sequence along with the appropriate sound track.
The release date of the innovative Volvo S90 Ambience Concept isn’t being revealed yet, but a Volvo spokesperson said some of the options would eventually be implemented in the mass-market car models as well.
