The forthcoming 2018 Volvo V40 hatchback is no longer a mystery, so let’s have a closer look at what it has to offer.
To begin with, the car is quite aggressive-looking compared to its predecessor – mostly thanks to new bumpers, a restyled radiator grille, and reshaped LED headlights. Its interior is somewhat reminiscent of that of the Volvo XC40 crossover and comes with a digital fascia board and an infotainment system with a vertical layout.
The new 2018 Volvo V40 gets assembled on the CMA platform which features an extended 2,700-millimeter wheelbase (that’s 105.5 inches). Prospective buyers will be offered V3/V4 gasoline engines ranging from 156 to 250 hp and a two-liter diesel motor with 190 hp. In full compliance with the modern trends, a hybrid and a full-electric model will be released to the mass market as well.
Last but not least, the latest Volvo V40 will be available with a six-speed manual, a seven-speed PowerShift DCT, and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
