Volvo pledges to electrify its entire vehicle lineup in the USA

According to Volvo, only electrified and all-electric cars will remain on sale in the United States in the near future.

This covers mild hybrids (MHEV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV), and battery-electric vehicles (BEV). Starting soon, the Volvo XC90, C60 Cross Country and XC40 will all get electric motors.

Along with the announcement, the company introduced a planned upgrade of the XC40 SUV, giving it a bezel-free front grille and a front bumper styled like that of the XC40 Recharge. Further updates included reshaped highlights, new premium trim options, redesigned wheels and the Google Assistant along with over-the-air (OTA) update support.

The model year 2023 refresh will also be coming to the S60, V60 and V60 Cross Country soon. All models listed will get new exterior paint options, wheels and grilles, and rear bumper details. Customers will get access to a few new interior trim options as well.

Sales in the USA will begin this summer.
