World Car of the Year 2018, an annual competition held among car manufacturers worldwide, has culminated in the victory of Volvo and its latest XC60 crossover SUV.
The vehicle was pitted against such strong entries as the Mazda CX-5 and the Range Rover Velar – which once again highlights the rapidly growing international demand for SUV models.
Some time ago, the Volvo XC60 was awarded Car of the Year 2018 in Japan and the USA.
The jury consisting of 82 car journalists awarded the Best Design prize to the Range Rover Velar. BMW X5 claimed the Best Sport Car. Nissan Leaf received the award as the world’s most environmentally-friendly vehicle.
