YouTuber Turbo John has posted a viral vid featuring a dangerous stunt: a powerful pickup truck built for drag races blasts off the start line with a passenger in the bed and nearly drops him halfway. It may look awesome, but is also irresponsible and dangerous – and has already cost the perpetrator his employment contract.
In the video, the fan who climbed into the bed of the truck before it speeds away can be seen holding on to dear life as the dragster rears up and nearly throws him off. It is also abundantly clear that no adequate security measures are used – there is a helmet, but no safety belts or other arresting devices to prevent deadly injuries.
Fortunately for everyone involved, the driver and the passenger have both waked away unharmed. This is not to say there were no consequences: the owners of the racetrack complex have already severed the contract with the irresponsible driver. Even so, they may soon face additional charges for safety protocol violations, and may ultimately have to shut down the whole complex.
