Tank 700 previewed ahead of production start

Great Wall-owned car brand Tank has unveiled its new off-road flagship: the Tank 700 Hi4-T. The vehicle will debut at the Guangzhou Motor Show on November 17, AutoHome reports.

Out of all the SUVs released by Tank so far, the model number 700 looks the closest to the 400 (and not the 300 or the 500). It has a more rugged and masculine appearance with body air intakes in the front bumper and the hood, impressive fenders and a gently sloped roofline.

The rear end has a spare wheel cover, a large diffuser and a spoiler a-la Mercedes-AMG G 63. The headlights have round DRLs, while the taillights look like twin horizontal dashes. The wheels are sized 22”.

The interior remains to be revealed at the show. The only spy shot available so far suggests there will be a three-spoke multi-function wheel, a bulky transmission tunnel and recessed dash gauges.

Allegedly 5,113 mm (200 inches) long with 3 meters (117 in) of wheelbase, the Tank 700 is a much bigger car than the 500. Its drivetrain consists of a 3.0-liter V6 and an electric motor joining efforts for 517 PS (510 hp / 380 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. A base version has also been patented with a V6 and 360 PS (355 hp / 272 kW).
