A thoroughly restored and modernized 1963 Willys Jeep Station Wagon will cross the Mecum auction block in the USA in late March. The vehicle is in peak driving condition with all the rust, dents, scuffs and patina being there purely for show.
A (sadly) uncredited tuner has finished the exterior in a pleasant combination of light blue and white looking dapper against tiny 15-inch aftermarket steelies. The impressive ground clearance of the original was preserved, while the engine was replaced by a V8 sourced from an almost equally old AMC muscle car. The restorer replaced the carburetor with a more time-appropriate injection system and put together a custom exhaust system so that the owner may not worry too much about the emission levels.
A peek inside reveals a much tidier cabin with no corrosion or dirt anywhere in sight. There is natural leather on the doors, dapper grey fabric on the seats and wood trim on the steering wheel rim and the AC unit. Speedhut provides the modern digital dashboard and center console.
