World’s fastest jet-powered kart goes on sale for $15k

A custom kart racer equipped with dual jet engines has cropped up on sale in the United States and so far reached a top bid of $15,000, Motor1 reports. The car entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the planet’s fastest kart.

The seller claims that the record, which was officially set in October 2021, is still valid. The top acceleration was registered at 184.41 kilometers per hour (114.59 mph).

Other than this, the listing is light on details. It does mention that the kart runs on a custom frame that carries two Kingtech k450g4 jet engines. It also features aerodynamic cowling all around and some racing gauges. The original creator is said to have spent around 18 months designing it and getting ready for the Guinness run.

Whoever buys the one-off time attack machine will be offered an unfinished two-wheel scooter chassis also prepped for jet engine installation. Its price is unknown, and one has to wonder what prompted the owner to part with this highly dangerous vehicle.
