Wuling Motors announced a trio of new Silver Badge vehicles intended for worldwide sales last spring, including the already-on-sale Victory van and a crossover SUV announced today.
Interestingly enough, we had all expected the automaker to bring a production car based on the Hongguang X Concept to the Shaghai show (see video). However, the invitation teasers show an entirely different model allegedly named 730S.
The car follows the same style direction as the Baojun 530 and the RS-5. Leaked shots of its interior reveal a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, a 10.25-inch touch-enabled infotainment system, a multi-function steering wheel with a badge but no Wuling caption, and a normal-looking gear stick.
SGMW Group that Wuling is a part of usually uses McPherson struts for front suspension and semi-dependent axles for the back. As for the powertrains, we expect these to come from the Baojun Valli wagon and the Wuling Victory van. Both use a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated ta 147 PS (145 hp / 108 kW) and 250 Nm (183 lb-ft) of torque. The drive stays on the front axle no matter what, but you can at least choose between six-speed manual and CVT.
