XPeng P5 EV has autopilot, Cinema Mode

Chinese media had speculated about the technical specifications of the battery-powered XPeng P5 since spring, and now, the company has finally disclosed these specifications.

Apparently, the car comes powered by a single electric motor rated at 211 PS (208 hp / 155 kW). Customers can choose from three available battery sizes: 55.9, 66.2 and 71.4 kilowatt-hours. NEDC-rated driving ranges for the trio are 460, 550 and 600 kilometers, respectively. The car body measures 4,808 mm long with 2,768 mm between the axles.

The main tech feature comes in the form of a state-of-the-art driving assist system dubbed the XPilot 3.5 (even the range-topping XPeng P7 uses an outdated 3.0 version). The latest package adds long-range laser-based radars to scan the road ahead, can recognize various types of obstacles, detect traffic lights, and much more.

There is also a special feature called Cinema Mode, which can turn your car into a movie theater with comfy seats and a big screen – as long as it is parked, of course.

Sales begin on July 17, 2021.
