Xpeng heading to Dubai with a flying car to reveal and test there

Chinese automaker Xpeng will attend the Gitex Expo event in Dubai, UAE, on October 10, 2022, with a prototype of an aerial car for two.

The authorities of Dubai have already greenlit a number of test flights for the Voyager X2, a two-seater VTOL you can use as a private means of transportation or a taxi. A demo flight will be organized during the show, and many more will follow later as the company will try to collect the necessary telemetry data.

Powered by eight electric motors and the same number of rotors, the Voyager X2 can attain a maximum height of 1 kilometer (3,280 feet), accelerate to 130 km/h (80 mph), and hover in place for 35 minutes.

In late July, the company announced the completion of a flying car factory in Guangzhou. For now, the industrial site will be conducting tests and making new prototypes. The first mass-market vehicle is expected to arrive in a few years.
