Xpeng relies on G6 e-SUV to help it boost sales

Chinese automaker Xpeng expects to double its sales in the second half of the year thanks to a new battery crossover SUV known as the G6. The company says it has received a slew of reservations since the announcement.

According to Reuters, Xpeng is targeting 15,000+ monthly car sales in July through September, which is nearly twice as much as its current selling rates. In the fourth quarter, it expects to be able to move 20,000+ units per month.

We will see how things pan out for Xpeng towards the end of the year, but there is no omitting an unpleasant truth: the company’s car sales plunged by 40% in the first half of the year. With this in mind, the projected growth looks like a partial comeback in the very best scenario.
