Chinese automaker Zeekr claimed its premium electric car, the 001, would take advantage of some revolutionary battery tech. The company has now supplied the details to back up its claim.
The newest generation of CATL battery tech – Qilin – has an unprecedentedly high volume efficiency of 72%. In practical numbers, every cell inside the battery pack of the CATL pack yields 13% more power than the most advanced Tesla cell on the market.
This means the Zeekr 001 may easily exceed 1,000 kilometers of electric range, an achievement especially impressive if you consider that it takes only 10 minutes to charge from near zero to 80%.
