Chinese EV maker Zeekr will be complementing its 007 sedan (see the gallery below) with a wagon version. According to CarNewsChina citing its own sources, the car is currently known under the internal designation “CC1E” and is close to production.
We are told that the estate car is being developed specifically or the European market. Customers in China tend to choose between sedans and SUVs when they decide how much practicality they need, but wagons are still popular in Europe.
The rumors are saying that the wagon will ship in the same trim levels with the same powertrains as the sedan. This means six trims to choose from and either 421 or 646 PS (415 or 637 hp; 310 or 475 kW) heading for the wheels. Depending on the battery size, the range may vary from 660 to 870 kilometers (410–540 miles).
On its domestic market, the Zeekr 007 is obtainable from 209,900 Yuan and goes up to 299,900 with all option boxes ticked. This is 20,000 Yuan less than the company expected to sell it at when announcing prices last November. Still, even though the EVs have gotten cheaper lately, it would make sense for the 007 wagon to cost more than its four-door cousin.
On a related note, it may very well have been Geely Design Director Stefan Sielaff who made the company open to the idea of launching a family EV in Europe. With extensive previous experience at Audi and Bentley, Sielaff knows the ins and outs of the EU automotive market and has a voice of authority in the Chinese corporation.
