Chinese premium EV manufacturer Zeekr has updated its 009 minivan lineup. Despite staying almost unchanged on the outside, the vans landed with 1,366 component improvements including new motors and batteries. Seven seats and RWD have also been added as options, dropping the minimum price by 61,000 Yuan.
Customers can now choose from three different Zeekr 009 modifications, including two seven-seaters priced at 439,000 and 459,000 Yuan and a luxury six-seater starting at 469,000 Yuan. The most affordable spec gets a single e-motor driving the rear axle with 422 PS (416 hp / 310 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque. It takes 6.9 seconds to launch from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph).
The other two variants no longer utilize the old dual-motor powertrain with 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) and 686 Nm (506 lb-ft) of torque. Instead, they borrow the twin motors from the 009 Grand flagship, getting a cool 789 PS (778 hp / 580 kW) and 810 Nm (597 lb-ft) of torque from them. The sprint time goes down to sporty 3.9 seconds in this version.
All three modifications run on a 108-kWh battery pack also sourced from the 009 Grand model. The single-motor version gets up to 740 km (460 miles) of range out of it, while the dual-motor variants run dry after 702 km (436 miles). 800-volt power architecture on board enables charging the pack from 10 to 80 percent in just 11 minutes 30 seconds. Paying an extra 50,000 Yuan nets you an extended battery rated at 140 kWh of capacity and 900 km (559 miles) of range per charge.
On the eye candy side of things, the new model year brings along new exterior color options, a roof-mounted LiDAR (no longer exclusive to the top trim), and an infotainment system with OLED displays sized 15.05 and 17 inches across. A 3,000W Yamaha audio system comprising 30 speakers is included as well.
Zeekr claims it received more than 3,000 preorders in a week since the announcement. The shipments in China started just yesterday, July 22.
